Hammerless - Double Trigger SN
34771 matching on Receiver, Hand Guard and Barrels CIRCA 1890 - Has
"SPENCER >>>>>>>> GUN FINE DAMASCUS" on the barrel -- 80+% Blue remaining and
the rest is grey & brown patina --- excellent bores,
smooth & shinny, only very minor pitting, --- Stock is hand rubbed walnut and
is in very good overall condition with no cracks and only 1 major ding.
70% checkering remaining on the fore stock and hand grip.
32" Barrels are marked "Fine Damascus" --- In
overall excellent mechanical condition
with strong factory markings.
This one has some undocumented history. On the inside
of the of the for stock is the name LILLY etched into the wood. Also on the
hand grip but are the initials JRL and 1893 etched into the wood.
I did a little internet research and found a JR Lilly
in Gladstone Missouri who lost his wife at age 21 in 1882 - I haven't been
able to find any other info.
Will accept 2 1/2 & 3" shells - Black Powder loads
